The people I play baseball with are a lot of fun. We are kind of a unique mix of people, certainly with different personalities and levels of baseball skill. One of the things I enjoy about these people – they let me play with them! It feels good to be included and even better when you contribute to the teams success (winning, it matters, that is why we keep score). Another thing I appreciate is the mutual desire to encourage each other. And this desire is usually followed up by words of cheer in the field or at bat. Even when you (me) mess up, strike out, muff a throw, send a runner when you shouldn’t,…they are gracious. Those kind of things make us a good team, but it also helps when we are victorious. I like that we cheer for the other team at the end of the game, that we don’t openly mock the opposition, that we go to Dairy Queen and get ice cream. We deliberately call many of our small groups CARE groups, and even made an acrostic out of the word care to describe what we would like to see occur in these groups;

I am intrigued with this passage in the book of Acts, and the dynamics involved in the early church...
