What is General Assembly?

General Assembly is a national gathering held every two years by The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) in Canada (of which Mission Creek is a part of). This five-day gathering (May 31-June 4, 2016, in Calgary, AB) is a fresh reminder of who we as a denomination are and what our purpose is. It is a time when our whole community comes together, and we breathe the same air. It is a time to re-envision and it will be a powerful experience.

General Assembly is also the governing body of the C&MA in Canada, with delegates from churches across the nation meeting to discern and make decisions together.

General Assembly 2016: Arise “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you” (Isaiah 60:1-4). The C&MA has always been dedicated to the transformation of our churches and the world. Our main theme for this season as a church is: On mission.  Everyone.  Everywhere.  All the time.

Please be in prayer for those in attendance, church leadership, national leadership, and international workers.  Pray for discernment for the governing body of our national leadership, for the pastors who attend, for the meetings that will happen and the special speakers: Dave Hearn and Mark Buchanan.  Pray for Pastor Keith, Pastor Jan and Janet Kirby who will all be in attendance this year.
